While weights can vary, these are the typical weights for various sizes:

4" to 7" ~  280-1340 g, 0.6-2.9 lb

8" to 10" ~ 1340-2140g, 2.9-4.7 lb  

11" to 14" ~ 2140-4630g, 4.7-10.2 lb

15" to 16" ~ 4630-7900 g, 10.2-17.4 lb

17" to 18" ~ 7910-8630 g, 17.4-19 lb

When you tap a Himalayan Singing Bowl, you bring out the rich overtones of the singing bowl. It creates a complex sound. When you sing along the rim, you isolate one clear tone. 

You can sing your bowl in your hand, or on table. When played on a table you should put your bowl on a rubber ring, rubber mat or padded ring.
